A wire basket
filled with golf balls PLOPS onto green Astroturf.
A golf ball is placed on a tee.
Hands grip
a golf club, testing the weight.
MONICA stands
ready to swing. She looks up, scanning the horizon.
She is on
her apartment deck. She stares out over the city, buildings stretching
in every direction.
Monica winds
up.
WHACK!
The golf
ball goes sailing into the neighborhood.
CRASH
A car alarm
starts in with its WOOP WOOP WOOP
Monica is
satisfied. She grabs another ball from the basket of dozens and
sets it on the tee.
WHACK
The ball
sails off into the buildings.
SMACK
A dog lets
out a YELP, then BARK BARK BARK BARK
Monica tees
another ball.
WHACK
A woman
SCREAMS.
Monica tees
another ball, and another, rocketing them into the surrounding
blocks.
The balls
are disappearing from the basket.
Monica tees
another ball and winds up.

A telephone
rings from inside the apartment.
Monica heads
inside.
INT. APARTMENT - DAY
The phone
is sitting on a shelf. Monica grabs the receiver.
LARRY
Hello? Oh yeah, yeah. So it's a classic, it needs some restoration.
It's candy apple red, 5 speed, the tires are good...
Next to
the phone cradle are a few golf balls and a magic marker.
We get a
close view of one of the balls. On it is printed:

INT. MONICA'S APARTMENT - DAY
There is
a knock at the front door. Monica walks up, still talking on the
phone. She opens the door.
It's a cop,
holding a golf ball.
MONICA
Oh, you're too late, it just sold. Sorry.
Monica flashes
an apologetic look and shuts the door in the cop's face.
